Antioch Church of Christ
Altoona, AL
I am married , a mother of 3, and a nana of 8.  I have attended Antioch Church of Christ since I was born and became a Christian at 12. My husband is now an Elder at Antioch, my dad was an Elder when he was alive ,and my brother is presently serving  in the Eldership position .  I have taught classes since I was a teenager and am currently teaching a young ladies class.  I coordinate our Ladies’ day each year with a wonderful group of Christian sisters.
I was a stay at home mom for many years ,but decided I needed to help my husband put our children through college. I earned my bachelor and masters degrees in early and elementary education, a masters and educational specialist degree in school counseling, and finally a masters in school administration. I taught 6th grade for several years then moved to school counselor where I currently reside.  Even with all of this my passion has been to speak to other ladies about God’s word.   I have presented at many school related workshops and conferences however, I am a novice at speaking at Ladies Days.  I have the desire to grow stronger in this area and to add to my speaking engagements .  I started this journey last year speaking at Antioch.  I would love to have the opportunity to speak so while I am growing in this endeavor I will not be requiring any compensation.
Please feel free to call or email me with any questions you have.

I am a wife and stay-at-home mom of four (1 girl and 3 boys, ages 13 to 21). The oldest two attend Oklahoma Christian University. The youngest two are still in school. We celebrated our 27th anniversary this summer.  Southwest Oklahoma is where we call home.

My passion is in teaching ladies’ Bible class on Wednesday nights, speaking at Ladies’ Days and Ladies Night Out events, and also presenting lessons for Ladies’ retreats and Bible workshops, and planning ladies’ events.  My daughter also speaks and it has been very special being about to hear her speak to women from her younger, but very mature, perspective.  She’s much more mature at 21 than I was – and I was married!

I’ve taught Bible class to all ages of children – from babies’ class, children’s class, and teenage girls’ classes many times over years.  Each time was a rewarding and faith-growing experience. I learned the most teaching young children as a young mom, but now have grown a stronger and deeper faith while teaching ladies’ class.  My personal blog, “Shine Like Stars” (, is a mixture of devotional thoughts and family life.

My family enjoys teaching and helping with Vacation Bible School and other church activities, helping with our Bible Camp (QMCC…Quartz Mountain Christian Camp) where my husband and son direct a session the week around July 4th, and with the Tipton Children’s Home, where my husband serves as Director.  He also serves as a deacon for the Tipton church. We are blessed with a large number of wonderful Christian role models and service opportunities in our community!

Apart from church-related activities, I have served as our elementary PTO president for 17 years and also serve as our local 4-H leader. My hobbies include decorating for showers, weddings, parties, and other events. I like to cook and make up new recipes and host a recipe and craft blog at  I post the recipes that work out and ditch the rest :).

My husband and I began a Facebook page called “Parents After God’s Own Heart” in May, 2013. Its purpose is to encourage parents to parent intentionally, as well as to raise up their children up in the Lord according to His Word. The Facebook link is:

My goal in life is to serve God and strive to live in the example of His Son, Jesus, in order to “Shine Like Stars”. My prayer is that, in some small way, by visiting my blog, you will find encouragement to SHINE every day, as well!

Thank you for visiting my blog :). I look forward to hearing from you!

Monica Mynk is the author of two Christian fiction series: Cavernous (young adult) and Goddess to Daughter (adult romantic suspense). The first two novels in each series are available on Amazon, and there are plenty more to come. In addition to Christian fiction, she writes devotionals and Bible class material for ladies and teen girls.

She has been a baptized believer since age 13, and has longtime served as a Bible class teacher, Bible camp counselor,  and mentor for young Christian girls. She’s also spent time working alongside her husband in a college ministry, managing the women’s devotionals and praise. Currently, she’s focused her service on writing fiction with a strong Biblical base, taking a stand against our sound-byte faith and meme-driven religion.

Her adult novels contain stories of redemption, for women who’ve fallen far into sin and find it hard to dig their way out. She longs to reach out to women everywhere and challenge them to deeper faith.

Her debut women’s Bible class book, Ungodly Clutter, also released in 2016. It explores the idea that while it’s not necessarily a sin to have a messy house, there are some things cluttering our homes that would be displeasing to God. The room-to-room analysis covers everything from sinware on computers and idols in garages.

In addition to her service-related expertise, Monica has ample experience leading seminars and trainings in an educational arena, and many learning strategies through her fifteen-year career as a high school science and math teacher. She can lead seminar-style, Power Point, or lecture-style presentations on a custom topic, or any of the following:
What’s Your Calling?
Ungodly Clutter
The Virtuous Modern Young Woman
Blending Faith and Fiction
Being Less

Topics can be modified to meet any requested span of time.
