Teah McWhorter has been a speaker at lectureships, ladies’ day programs, retreats, and Polishing the Pulpit for many years. Her workshop for Bible class teachers began in 2000. She has taught all ages of children and ladies. She put her education degree to good use first as school teacher and then as a homeschool mom for 30 years. She supported other homeschoolers by starting one of the first homeschool cover groups in Alabama, by providing curriculum, and by founding Roundhouse.

Teah is married and has seven children and seventeen grandchildren. She owns and operates Chula Vista Books, a discount Bible and related books store.

April was married for almost 37 years, but is now a widow. She has three faithful children each of whom is married to a faithful Christian. She delights in her twelve grandchildren! She collects hugs and smiles because they don’t have to be dusted.

Dorcas Wiley Curry

Dorcas Wiley Curry has been a Christian and active in the Church of Christ for over 45 years. Her dad baptized her in Lansing, Michigan at 9 years old. She has been teaching Bible classes for over 30 years and is very active in her home congregation by teaching third and fourth graders, working with college students, as an assistant to the college ministry, Chair of the Spiritual Development Committee with the Women’s Ministry, Chair of the Schrader Lane Church of Christ Ladies’Day Program 2018, and one of the lead facilitator, lesson developer and teacher, of the adult ladies Bible class.
Born in Benton, Arkansas, Dorcas was nicknamed Dee by her sister. She is one of four children, is the daughter of Church of Christ minister William Wiley, and mother, Mable Vaughn Wiley and the mother of Brandon, Lenita and Philip Jr. and bonus mom to Whitney, and Trey, Tommy, Nicci.
Dorcas is a play writer and director of her own play acting group New Birth Player and is also the author of a motivational book titled “Even In The Dark I Surrender” and a fun to read book “You Know They Say” a collection of old wives tales. She has published a motivational CD titled “Living Life to the Fullest.” As a motivational speaker some of her major workshop titles are, “Living Life to the Fullest,” “Turning Hurt into Halos and Scars into Stars,” “Divorce Recovery,” “Prayer Recovery” and several women inspirational programs.
Dorcas is also a professional trained Career Coach, working to help individuals find their best career paths and working to help employers find the best employees. She teaches Quality Customer Service and specializes in helping business owners bring top quality customer service to their customers and clients. One thing she enjoys most is listening to senior citizens talk about life. Dorcas feels her calling in life giving back.
Much like the Dorcas in the Bible (Acts 9:36), she is a giver to all. Her favorite song is the hymn “I Surrender All” because surrendering to Him is where she gets her strength to stand even in the dark.
One fun fact about Dorcas is one of her mentors in life is Disney’s “Tigger”. In Tigger’s song he says he’s “fun fun fun fun fun … the most wonderful thing about Tigger is, I’m the only one.” So much like Tigger…She is JustDorcas, the only”JustDorcas” you will ever meet… She’s the only one.

DELOIS H. SMITH

Delois Smith has been a Christian for 45 years. She became a Christian while a graduate student at the University of Florida.

She is the devoted wife of Edward D. Smith. Married for 39 wonderful years, they have two adult children; Meghan, (a Doctor of Physical Therapy) and Alex (Autistic, Special Needs).

Ed and Delois have been servant members of the Central Church of Christ for 39 years. Central is a multicultural congregation where Ed serves as an elder and Delois serves as a professional counselor and therapist. She also serves as coordinator of women’s classes and retreats at Central. She has planned, taught and coordinated classes and workshops on a spectrum of religious and secular topics. She often speaks and teaches at various congregational ladies’ days, retreats, conferences and special event occasions.

In 2016, Delois served as one of the keynote speakers at the annual Women Walking With God spiritual conference in Wichita, Kansas with over 1,500 attendees and the Annual Church of Christ Women’s Lectureship Retreat held in Birmingham, Alabama.

Delois is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Intercultural Specialist. She is now retired from The University of Alabama in Huntsville where she served in two consecutive Vice President positions; first as The Vice President for Student Affairs and in a second position as the Vice President for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, for a combined 35 years.

She has taught classes, conducted workshops and retreats on topics such as:

Becki Willis

Becki Willis resides in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband, Jordan, and daughter, Brianna, where she attends and serves as a member of the Lewisville church of Christ. Becki attended Harding University where she received her bachelor’s degree in English Education in 2010. Since that time, she has obtained her master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2016. Becki is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.

Becki decided to pursue her master’s in counseling shortly after her first husband’s untimely death. She is passionate about helping others gain hope and resiliency through the valleys in life. Through her grief journey, Becki has chosen to continue “walking on the water” and trust God and His plan for her life. It is her hope to spread to other women and girls God’s message of hope throughout this life.
